Hatton National Bank [HNB] which was named The Bank of the year -2006 by "The Banker" magazine continues to be a dominant player in providing Trade Finance Services to its customers.
The Central Trade Processing Unit of HNB and Trade Finance Units forming part of the bank's customer center network were first honoured with the prestigious ISO 9001:2000 certification by Bureau Veritas in 2004. This certificate was valid for a period of three years.
Trade Services of HNB have now been re-certified under ISO 9001:2000 for a further period of 3 years.
This re-certification under the accreditation of the United Kingdom Accreditation Services (UKAS) has been carried out in recognition of HNB's continued compliance with Internationally accepted Quality Management System Standards applied in processing of documentation used in Trade Finance transactions with a focus for continual improvement said Rajendra Theagarajah, Managing Director / CEO of HNB.
Theagarajah also said that HNB constantly evaluates its service delivery capability in the Trade Finance area. Centralized Trade Processing which includes: the document checking/processing operation, has ensured that the branch network is deployed as effective distribution points, where staff and resources are productively engaged to interface with customers, cross-sell banking services and manage relationships.
This also ensures that Trade Services will ably support the bank's Corporate and Commercial Relationship Managers in offering Value Added solutions to Trade Finance requirements of the bank's customers. |
