For whom is a Singithi Lama Account?
- A Singithi Lama Account is for children under 12 years
- The account can be opened for newborns and children up to 12 years
- Existing Singithi Kirikatiyo Accounts will be converted to Singithi Lama Accounts when the child reaches 05 years of age
What happens when the child reaches 12 years?
- On the 12th birthday, the account will be automatically transferred to the next stage of minor account, HNB Teen, and your child will be eligible to obtain benefits under the HNB Teen Scheme specially designed for teenagers, with special value additions
- Parents, aunts uncles and relatives of the child
What documents are needed to open the account?

What is the minimum amount to open the account?
- LKR 500/-
- Thereafter, any amount can be deposited as and when required
What is the interest paid?
- An interest of 1% above the normal savings rate will be paid

New Entrance Scheme
New Entrance Scheme is a value addition for Singithi Lama accounts opened for students who have just enrolled in school.
For whom is the New Entrance Scheme?
- The New Entrance Scheme is for Grade One students
- The account should be opened within 03 months of the date of admission to school
What additional benefit does the child receive?
- The bank will contribute 50% of the parent's initial deposit up to a maximum of LKR 1000/-
Where can the account be opened?
- At any of our Students Savings Units maintained at schools
