Opening a NRFC Account



How can I open a NRFC Account?

You may open a NRFC account in one of the following ways:

  • Print the form, then complete the details and sign both sections. Please mention Customer Centre of preference.

    Your NRFC statement is available monthly or quarterly. Please indicate your preference.

  • Print the form, then complete the details and sign both sections.

  • Click here for Know Your Customer (KYC) application form.
  • Print the form, then complete the details and sign both sections.

How can I use Internet Banking for my NRFC Account?

This service allows you to view your transactions and balance at the HNB Virtual Branch, as well as print your statements.

The following supporting documents are required:

  • Photocopy of your passport where name, photo, validity and visa (where applicable) are available
  • Documentary proof of employment (photocopy of employment/contract letter from employer/salary slip)
  • Bank draft for a sum in excess of USD 100/- or its equivalent in the currency of preference as an initial deposit. The draft should be drawn favouring yourself and payable in foreign currency. The Bank must be informed if you intend to transfer funds from a bank or exchange house (in the Middle East) for the initial deposit
  • If you are a former Sri Lankan now holding a foreign passport, please provide a copy of your Sri Lankan birth certificate
